Leland Originals / Brand identity & website

A new venture by our client Leland Music, Leland Originals represents composers for commercial projects.

Their brief was brief – We aren’t going to be like other agencies; we aren’t going to represent composers in the same way as other agencies and we don’t want to look anything like other composer agencies – but we’ve no idea what that would look like.

We quickly established that the composers should be central to the visual expression of the agency. Inspired by the neuorological phenomena of synaesthesia, whereby people experience sounds as colours, a vibrant palette both visually unites and distinguishes the composers.

We felt that it was important to capture a sense of the composer’s personality through visual presentation as well as through their work. A short video portrait gives an insight to how they work and think, and what drives them. Together with this, a very carefully chosen playlist of commisioned and non commisioned pieces creates a concise but illuminating picture of their work.
